Save the date - to the beach we shall go! Join me in Mendocino and Fort Bragg this summer for a 1 or 2 (and a half) day watercolor and sketch workshop.

During this workshop you will learn how to choose what to paint and how to present it. How to take reference photos and to create reference sketches. You will develop plein air painting skills and refine and build detail in your work.

This area offers an opportunity to paint ocean, rocks, bustling wharf life and vast botanical subjects.

How it works - Choose how many days you will attend. You will need to book your accommodation. Check your materials and please bring whatever you have by way of paint and brushes if you already have some. A watercolor journal is the easiest to use when painting outside. Please contact Christine with any questions or concerns with this.

We will convene both Friday and Saturday at the Mendocino Library in Fort Bragg. This way we can do class work without concern for the weather or seating. Then, we will head off to the chosen location. Both Noyo Harbor and Botanical Gardens have areas to sit, eat and bathrooms. You are welcome to stay as long as you like on location.

On Sunday we will have a wrap up lesson and critique on Mendocino waterfront. Please bring sun hats and sunscreen and a folding chair in case of crowds. It is early enough that we may avoid that problem, but good to be prepared. You are free to stay as long as you like. I will touch in with each of you and demonstrate techniques relevant to our chosen scene to finish off our workshop.

Saturday night potluck/paella party is graciously hosted by Melanie Fonseca.

Please RSVP and plan on adding to the fun with a beverage and nibble/ salad/ dessert or side.
